Nice cascade falls, great views from the top, moderate difficulty
Near: Groveoak, AL
Distance: 2.5 miles round trip
Elevation Gain: 400 ft
Hike Time: 1.5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Trail Condition: OK, but a few difficult spots
Hike Type: Out and Back
Summary: This is a nice short hike for the family. There are a few places that a parent will want to “hang onto” children under 9 yrs old. My 6 year old made it fine in 1 1/2 hours (each way) with some hand-holding and lifting onto one boulder. In heavy rain times, check at the ranger station (near lower trailhead) about stream crossings. There are great views at the top. Also, this is an ideal place to watch Bald Eagles during winter months.
